Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds and other ultraviolet exposure on the application area for at least 12 hours after topical use. The phototoxicity warning may be adjusted only when the Lemon Oil is specifically documented as steam-distilled, furocoumarin-free or otherwise non-phototoxic. People with allergies or sensitivities to plants from the Asteraceae family should use Blue Tansy-containing products with additional caution.
